Jammu: A massive crackdown on menace of illegal mining has been done by Jammu Police whereby 18 different vehicles involved in illegal mining including tractors, dumpers and JCBs have seized at different locations of District Jammu.
A multi-pronged strategy was devised by Jammu Police in which special police teams of PS Arnia, PS Akhnoor, PS Gharota, PS RS Pura, PP Canal Road and PP Sanik Colony were constituted. The teams were actively engaged in keeping a vigil on the mining activities in the mining prone areas in their jurisdictions along with local intelligence generation.
Hence acting stringently on the specific inputs, special nakas were laid and raids at different locations in their respective areas were conducted in which a total of 18 vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized. DMO Jammu was also intimated about the same.
