Death toll in Manipur violence rises to 54, 13,000 people rescued

The death toll due to the clashes between different communities in Manipur rose to 54, officials said. About 13,000 civilians have been rescued and are currently staying in various ad-hoc boarding facilities, a defence official said.

Markets and shops reopened on Saturday in Imphal town and other places amid heavy security presence.
