KATHUA,10APR: Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralize the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police recovered approx. 06 Grams Heroin(Chitta), & 14 grams of Ganja like narcotics at Phinter area of P/S Billawar, 02 persons arrested alongwith all the narcotics recovered and vehicle got seized on spot.
On 09-04.2023 an information was received through reliable sources at P/S Billawar that two persons namely 1. Bharat Singh S/o Dino Nath R/o Dadwara 2. Surinder Kumar S/o Lal Chand R/o Dadwara Tehsil Billawar indulged in smuggling of Heroin(Chitta) and Ganja like substances in the Phinter area.Acting swiftly a Police team led by Insp. Jatinder Singh SHO P/S Billawar under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh. Arvind Kumar-JKPS conducted a naka/checking duty at Phinter noticed one suspicious vehicle bearing Reg. No. JK08H-1254 enrouted from Mandli towards Phinter which was being driven by a person namely Bharat Singh S/o Dino Nath R/o Dadwara who was alongwith his accomplice namely Surinder Kumar S/o Lal Chand R/o Dadwara Tehsil Billawar which was signalled to stop for checking.On thorough checking approximately 06 Grams of Heroin (Chitta) & 14 grams of Ganja like narcotics were recovered from their illegal possession.Thereafter all the recovered narcotics approx. 06 grams Chitta and 14 grams of Ganja like narcotics alongwith vehicle involved were seized and 02 persons were arrested on spot. On this a case vide FIR No. 50/2023 U/S 8/20/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Billawar while further investigation is underway.
Kathua Police appeals to the general public not to indulge in the sale or consumption of drugs and to report any such activity to their nearest police station.We assure that strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in illegal drug tracfficking and consumption.
