Today 16 animals were freed from a person named Munir Ahmed in sumb area of samba who was taking them towards Udhampur without permission.

The arrested accused have turned out to be notorious smugglers of bovines and they have been found involved, arrested and challaned in bovine smuggling cases earlier also.
The arrested notorious bovine smugglers have been identified as Ajaz Ahmed s/o Sham Din r/o Nanka Chak Samba and Manzoor Ahmed s/o Late Mohd. Maqbool r/o Gangera tehsil and district Udhampur. A case has been registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Mansar and investigation has been started.
The bovine smuggling attempt was made by smugglers at odd mid night hours around 1:30 a.m. considering that everybody including police might be sleeping but it was not so, police was alert and police party headed by Chowki Officer Mansar Deepak Sharma and ASI Suresh Singh under the supervision of SHO Samba Rajeshwar Singh and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary intercepted the smugglers at Mansar while smuggling bovines to Kashmir valley via Mansar and arrested 2 notorious smugglers and rescued bovine animals they were illegally smuggling out.
It is third illegal bovine smuggling attempt foiled by Samba Police at Mansar within three days and total nine (9) bovine smugglers have been arrested and twenty eight bovines rescued.

One held for bovine smuggling bid in the jurisdiction of police station Billawar; six bovines rescued
A rare type of bovine smuggling bid was noticed in which a tanker was being used for illegal transportation of animals had come to notice.
A Police team of PS Kathua under the supervision of SHO Sh. Vijay Kumar while on Naka checking duty in its jurisdiction near Satkey Chak intercepted a water tanker bearing Reg.No.JK02AD-5569 being driven by unknown driver who was signalled to stop for checking. On seeing Police party, the driver stopped the said tanker far behind the naka point and fled away from the spot.
During checking of the said tanker 09 bovines were found loaded inside the tanker.
A case vide FIR No. 100/2021 Under Sections 188 IPC,11 PCA Act has been registered in P/S Kathua and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
