 DC Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib, briefed general public and media regarding vaccination and appeals to the left out high priority categories of people falling in the age group of 18-44 years  to come forward and get vaccinated

Udhampur police recovered two stolen vehicles, 02 accused arrested including juvenile

 On  the basis of written report lodged by a person namely Anil Goswami S/O Des Raj R/O Ballian, Udhampur that some unknown miscreants have stolen his bike (Royal Enfield) bearing registration number JK14G 0568 from outside his house.

Accordingly, A Case FIR No. 170/21 U/S 379 was registeted at PS Udhampur and investigation started.

A special team of PS Udhampur led by Insp. Chaman Gorkha SHO PS Udhampur under the supervision of Sh. Anwaar-Ul-Haq Addl. SP Udhampur and Sh. Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs. Udhampur conducted raids at different suspected locations for the search of the thieves as well as the stolen vehicles.

During the course of investigation, Udhampur Police zeored some suspected persons and during the sustained interview of these suspects, one of them (juvenile) broke down and confess the comission of offence.

On his further disclosure, his  associate who was involved with him in the theft namely Mohd. Ayub S/O Arshad Mohd R/O Panthal, Reasi was arrested by the police and also recovered the above said stolen vehicle (bike) from Railway station Udhampur alongwith another pulsar bike bearing chasis number MF2A11CZ3DCB52647 which was also stolen by this gang of thieves, was seized by Udhampur Police under 102 CrPC.

Both the vehicles were recovered and further legal proceeding are underway.

DC Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib constitutes Tehsil-level Committees  to prevent hoarding and black-marketing of essential commodities in view of the present Covid pandemic situation.

Udhampur police arrested one drug peddler along with 25 kg of poppy Straw at Rakhani Chowk, Udhampur

Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, Police Party of Police Station Udhampur  apprehended one drug peddler and seized 25 kg  of poppy straw.

Police Team of PS Udhampur led by Insp. Chanchal Singh SHO PS Udhampur under the supervision of Sh. Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs. Udhampur laid a naka at Jakhani chowk, NHW, for checking.

During Naka checking, police party stopped one truck bearing registration number PB06AS 5023 which was subjected to thorough search. During search of said vehicle, 25 kg of poppy  straw like substance was recovered.

 The narcotic smuggler namely Rajinder Singh S/O Balwant Singh R/O Kapoorthala, Punjab was arrested on spot and poppy straw was recovered. The involved vehicle was also seized.

In this connection, Case FIR NO. 134/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act at PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway.

Udhampur police arrested one drug pedeller along with 101 kg of poppy straw at Roundomail, Udhampur

Continuing its drive against drugs in Udhampur town, Police Party of Police post Roundomail apprehended one drug peddler and seized 101 kg  of poppy straw.

Police Team of PP Roundomail led by Insp. Chanchal Singh SHO PS Udhampur and assisted by SI Kaku Ram IC PP Roundomail under the supervision of Sh. Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs. Udhampur laid a naka at Roundomail naka point for checking. During naka checking, police party stopped one truck bearing registration number JK02AC/0797 which was subjected to thorough search.

During search of said vehicle, 101 kg of poppy  straw like substance was recovered. The narcotic smuggler namely Aqib Ahmed Guroo S/O Shabir Ahmed Guroo R/O Budgam Srinagar was arrested on spot. The involved vehicle was also seized.

In this connection, A Case FIR NO. 132/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Acts stand registered  at PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway.

DDC Udhampur felicitates Corona warriors

An impressive felicitation function was today organized by District Administration Udhampur to felicitate the Corona Warriors.  

District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla was the chief guest on the occasion.

On the occasion, the DDC felicitated the Corona warriors of Health department and Officers /officials of Army Command Hospital Udhampur for working tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While addressing the Corona Warriors, the DDC said that COVID-19 pandemic has affected every one globally. He said that the Doctors and paramedical staff of the health department and Command Hospital team worked day and night for covid 19 testing and helped the affected patients. He further appreciated the tireless efforts made by Corona warriors of the Health department and Command Hospital in sample collection and organizing awareness camps in the District.

Among others present were Commandant Major General, Command Hospital Udhampur, Ashok Jindal, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Lieutenant Colonel, Command Hospital , I.D Khan, Chief Medical Officer, Dr K C Dogra, DHO, Mohd Yaseen, Dy CMO, Simmi Thakur, Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Vijay Raina besides Doctors and paramedical staff of Health department and Command Hospital.
