Neglected Tourism 8: Dabars of River Basanter

Adventurous tourism / Trekking

Dabars (Water pockets) of River Basanter

Ofcourse Kandi Belt is devoid of water but there r some places in our kandi especially along the meanders of River Basanter that r full of blue green water called Dabars as I mentioned earlier & r a source of pleasure in the scorching summers. These r very beautiful, you can go there by the route of Dunai villager in Sumb by cable bridge r on foot by first ascending & then descending the hills of Sumb. The area which I'm going to show is near Jano village.

On down stream is Gharat or pan chakki I'm not sure whether it exists now or not but at that time it was the only source of grinding wheat or maize in these villages. It is very amazing how these villagers  stop water for the Gharat. All the villagers of nearby villages put big stones to channelise it's way & make a pool of water in the already existing Dabar. Very nice to watch it. It was very beautiful at that time & the sight of the blue green waters of the dabars that is pockets of water was amazing. Even u can see 15 feet clearly in water. If ur a good swimmer then it is splendid to swim here.

For reaching there, we have to cross so many nullahas & gorges on the way but when u reach there u 'll forget everything. I have crossed some Kuppads (big boulders). U will feel hilarious when u see the pictures of climbing Kuppads.
