The Airports Authority of India has launched the Drop and Go facility at the Srinagar airport to address the long-standing complaints of passengers regarding delays and hassles. The airport director informed that a passenger will be allowed to leave their vehicles at the drop gate.
After this directly they will put their luggage on X-ray and after screening they can board the e-cart located at the drop gate. Passengers have been complaining for a long time about the delay and hassle for entering the airport at the drop gate, the director said in the statement. He added that vehicle check, baggage check and personal frisking are time-consuming processes. As a result passengers entering the airport are delayed. The difficulties are increasing to such an extent that often passengers have to be advised to reach the airport four hours in advance so as not to miss their flight, he said.
Passengers are still missing their flights. There will be no such delay and hassle in starting the facility, he added. Told that 40% to 50% passengers will use this service from the start of the facility.
