Gujarat ATS gets big success, ISKP terrorist Zubair Munshi caught from Srinagar

The Gujarat ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) on Monday arrested a terrorist belonging to the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) network from Srinagar.  He has been taken to Gujarat on transit remand.  The name of the arrested ISKP terrorist is Zubair Ahmed Munshi.  However, the police have not confirmed his arrest. Earlier on June 9, the ATS had arrested four members of an ISKP module from Porbandar in Gujarat.  One of them was a woman from Surat and three other members are Kashmiris.  Their names are Ubaid Nasir Mir, Hanan Hayat Shawal and Mohammad Hajjam Shah.  All three are residents of Srinagar.  Zubair Munshi, a resident of Srinagar, is his accomplice. The ATS had camped in Kashmir for three days and was interrogating the relatives and close relatives of the IS terrorists caught in Gujarat.  In this episode, Gujarat ATS reached Zubair Munshi.

Investigation revealed that these five were in constant touch with ISKP handler Abu Hamza.  It is said that Zubair Munshi and the woman caught are the two most important links of this module.  It was Abu Hamza and Zubair Munshi who had asked the three arrested terrorists and their female accomplice to reach Porbandar on June 9.

There all of them had to work as fishermen for a few days and after that they had to reach Iran and from there to Afghanistan on getting the next order.  According to sources, Zubair Munshi was also in Porbandar Gujarat last week, but he fled to Srinagar before Gujarat ATS action.
