A decision will be taken this month on the work of laying gas pipeline from Gurdaspur to Jammu. Union Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri said this during a press conference at BJP's state headquarters. He informed that the technical survey of this 175 kilometer long pipeline has been completed. After the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, there has been a change in the situation here. Preparations are being made to hold a real estate summit in Srinagar soon. Interacting with reporters at the state BJP's Jammu headquarters, Union Minister Puri said that the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board is evaluating the bids invited in connection with the Gurdaspur-Jammu gas pipeline project. The funding of the project along with the technical survey is in progress and is expected to start in June itself.
In the year 2014, the length of the gas pipeline project was about 14,000 km, which was later increased to 33,500 km. Work is in progress on 23,000 kms. The real estate summit held in Jammu in December 2021 opened the way for investors. In which 39 MoUs worth about Rs 19 thousand crore were signed for the development of housing, hotels, commercial projects. The real investment potential of the sector will be fully explored. 21st century belongs to India. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and we are proud of it.
