SSP SAMBA BENAM TOSH PRESIDED OVER 'THANA DIWAS' AT SAMBA




Samba, May 25 : Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh today presided over impressive 'Thana Diwas' at Police Station Samba where hundreds of prominent citizens were present. SSP was accompanied by Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, Deputy SP Garu Ram Bhardwaj, Deputy SP DAR Ajay Anand, SHO Samba Rajeshwar Singh and other police officers.


Those who spoke on the occasion on behalf of the public included : President Beopar Mandal Tejinder Singh, President Brahman Sabha Ravi Khajuria, Municipal Councillor Raj Singh, Sarpanch Kheli Mandi Ravinder Singh and social activist Joginder Singh, Lucky Singh Sambyal, Videsh Kumar, Rajeshwar Singh, Swarn Singh and Ajaz Shatru  aired their reports and general grievances of the people at the properly organised Thana Diwas which were directed to be redressed immediately. 


On the occasion of Thana Diwas, SSP Samba Benam Tosh said that Samba society is well-knit, highly civilized and responsible society which takes care of every member of the society irrespective of caste, colour, creed, region or religion and cooperate with police in every security-related and law & order matter. He requested the elders of the society to advise youngsters not to take law in their own hands and inform police whenever illegal activities are seen anywhere. He thanked the prominent citizens for sparing their precious time and putting forward their valuable suggestions in the interest of general public and society as a whole. SSP reiterated that no leniency would be there while dealing with hardcore criminals and heroin suppliers. He further said that the main objective of organizing ‘Thana Diwas’ is to study the local issues pertaining to police working, listening to grievances of the people at Thana level and to redress the same on priority. Benam Tosh said that police would ensure impartial implementation of law on ground without fear or favour and would work hard to serve the people. More and more police-public meets, awareness programmes and sports events shall be organized by Samba police in addition to stern legal actions to completely eradicate ‘chitta’ menace from Samba district, he added.


Thana Diwas was also organized at all the police stations where grievances of the people were listen to and issues raised were noted to be resolved on priority.
