SAMBA POLICE ARRESTS 8 NOTORIOUS BOVINE SMUGGLERS
*65 BOVINE SMUGGLERS ARRESTED IN FOUR MONTHS : SAMBA BENAM TOSH*
Samba, May 25 : Police under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Benam Tosh has arrested eight (8) notorious bovine smugglers, foiled three separate bovine smuggling attempts, rescued 39 bovine animals and seized two trucks.
Alert Samba Police has foiled three separate bovine smuggling attempts, registered three separate FIRs under section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and section 188 IPC and eight notorious smugglers have been arrested. Further investigation is underway.
The bovines were being smuggled to Kashmir valley during odd night hours obviously to escape from police clutches.
Arrested notorious bovine smugglers have been identified as Jalil Ahmed s/o Haji Saen r/o Kotha Kathli tehsil & district Samba, Shakoor Ahmed s/o Sher Mohd r/o Gudhar Roun tehsil & district Udhampur, Latif Mohd. s/o Gani r/o Roun Gudhar, tehsil & district Udhampur, Fareed Mohd. s/o Saraj Din r/o Roun Gudhar, tehsil and district Udhampur, Mudassir Hussain s/o Irshad Ahmed r/o Anantnag, Firdous Ahmed s/o Mohd. Shafiq r/o Kokernag Anantnag, Marad Ali s/o Yousf Ali r/o Manyari tehsil Hiranagar district Kathua and Mohd Iqbal s/o Rashid Ahmed r/o Katal Brahmana tehsil Hiranagar district Kathua.
Bovine smuggling attempts were foiled by police team comprising of Incharge Police Post Mansar PSI Deepak Sharma and Incharge Police Post Rakh Amb Talli PSI Vineet Singh under the supervision of SHO Police Station Samba Rajeshwar Singh, Deputy SP Garu Ram Bhardwaj and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Total 65 bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in four months after the launch of special drive on the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, fifty five (55) FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, forty five (45) vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and five hundred seventy six (576) bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
