SAMBA POLICE ARRESTS 6 NOTORIOUS BOVINE SMUGGLERS, RESCUED 23 BOVINES
*71 BOVINE SMUGGLERS ARRESTED IN FOUR MONTHS : SSP SAMBA BENAM TOSH*
Samba, May 27 : Police under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Benam Tosh has arrested six (06) notorious bovine smugglers, foiled bovine smuggling attempts, rescued 23 bovine animals and seized two trucks.
Alert Samba Police has foiled bovine smuggling attempts, registered FIR No. 135/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA at Police Station Samba and arrested six notorious bovine smugglers. Further investigation is underway. The bovines were being smuggled to Kashmir valley during odd night hours obviously to escape from police clutches.
Arrested notorious bovine smugglers have been identified as Mohd. Latif s/o Abdul Aziz r/o Kadma, Pirda tehsil and district Ramban A/P Sumb tehsil and district Samba, Mohd. Farid Ahmed s/o Nawab Din r/o Nainther, Moda Barwal tehsil and district Samba, Talib Hussain s/o Gugar Din r/o Ramkot tehsil Billawar and district Kathua, Mukhtar Ahmed s/o Abdul Rehman r/o Nihari tehsil and district Samba, Mohd. Yousaf s/o Mohd. Rafiq r/o Savni, tehsil and district Ramban and Mohd. Maneer s/o Abdul Hamid r/o Chanoori Taloor tehsil and district Samba.
Bovine smuggling attempts were foiled by police team headed by Incharge Police Post Mansar PSI Deepak Sharma under the supervision of Inspr Balram Sharma and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Total 71 bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in four months after the launch of special drive on the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, fifty six (56) FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, forty seven (47) vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and five hundred ninety nine (599) bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
