Judge who convicted Rahul among 68 whose promotion SC stopped

The Supreme Court has stayed Gujarat government's decision to promote 68 judicial officers as district judges. Judicial Magistrate Harish Hasmukh Bhai Varma, who convicted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the 'Modi surname' defamation case, was one of them. "We do not appreciate the haste and hurry in which the state has approved and passed the promotion order," said the court.
