Samba, April 10: Police, under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, have launched vigorous raids on suspected hideouts of ‘chitta’ suppliers at different places. Illegal money accumulated by sale of ‘chitta’ (heroin) amounting to rupees sixty-six thousand (66,000.00) has been seized from one of the hideouts in presence of the Magistrate Moreover, 03 accused, involved in case of attack on Vijaypur police party while on patrolling duty near ‘chitta’ hotspot in the jurisdiction of police station Vijaypur, have also been apprehended.
The main accused arrested in case of attack on police has been identified as Mohd Farooq s/o Salam Din caste Gujjar, r/o Rakh Barotian, tehsil Vijaypur & district Samba. Two more accused of Rakh Barotian have also been apprehended in the attack case on police party and their interrogation is going on. Further raids to arrest all the accused involved in attack case on police patrolling party are underway at different places in Samba district and beyond.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh has constituted different teams headed by SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SHO Bari Brahmana Sunil Sharma, SHO Vijaypur Tribhawan Khajuria, SHO Samba Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ramgarh Sudesh Kumar, Inspector Sumit Sharma & IC PP Supwal Dr. Diveya Bharti under the supervision of Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary to vigorously conduct surprise raids and searches at suspected hideouts of ‘chitta’ suppliers alongwith Magistrates and sufficient nafri including women police officials.
