POLICE ORGANISED GRAND ANTI-DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT UTTAR BAHANI POLICE GOING TO ORGANIZE SERIES OF YOUTH - ORIENTED ACTIVITIES : SSP SAMBA BENAM TOSH




Samba, April 10 : Police today organised grand anti-drug awareness programme at Uttar Bahani under CAP where hundreds of students of Govt. and private schools, parents, teachers, prominent citizens and police officers witnessed the speech delivering competition. 


SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Addl. SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, DySP DAR Samba Ajay Anand, SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SHO Purmandal Vijay Verma and Chouki Officer Uttar Bahani Vivek Singh presented certificates and cash rewards of rupees 12000.00, 7500.00 and 5000.00 to the first, second and third best student speakers respectively, whereas five other student speakers were also felicitated with certificates & cash rewards of rupees 2000.00 each. 


Hundreds of students of Govt. Higher Secondary School Uttar Bahani, Sunlight High School Uttar Bahani and other nearby schools participated in today’s anti-drug awareness programme. DDC member Avtar Singh, Incharge Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Uttar Bahani Dr. Pinky Bala and Principal Sunlight High School Rajinder Pangotra thanked the police for organizing grand anti-drug awareness programmes at Uttar Bahani to generate awareness among students and public against drug abuse. Additional SP Samba also spoke on the occasion and asked youth to stay away from narcotic substances. 


On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that police is going to organize series of youth-oriented activities in Samba district so as to motivate them to become warriors to augment police in war against narcotic substances rather than falling prey to drug addiction. He informed that police has decided to organize atleast five benevolent functions including sports activities, symposiums/seminars/debates under CAP in the areas of Purmandal and Uttar Bahani itself and dozens of other anti-drug awareness programmes at different schools and public places across the district so that menace of drug abuse is completely eradicate from Samba soil. SSP Samba reiterated that since narco-terrorism is not less a deadly malaise than terrorism, Samba police is committed to go to any extent to take legal action against all notorious smugglers/suppliers of heroin (‘chitta’) operative in Samba district whose illegal narco-business and accumulation of illegal wealth will not be allowed to thrive henceforth. Police is on job to track down all enemies of mankind involved in illegal narco-business who are conspiring to devastate youth and students, he added. Benam Tosh also explained the historical significance of world famous holy religious place Uttar Bahani situated on the bank of holy Devika riv er and appreciated the constructive role of people and their representatives in controlling crime and drug abuse in the area.
