SAMBA POLICE APPREHENDS 4 NOTORIOUS THIEVES , SOLVES THREE THEFT CASES 71 thieves arrested in three months, 37 theft cases solved : SSP Samba Benam Tosh


 Samba, April 28 : Under the professional guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police has apprehended four (4) notorious thieves and solved three theft cases including temple theft case of Bari Brahmana and extortion case of Samba. 


The apprehended accused are the notorious thieves involved in several theft cases in different areas of Samba and Jammu districts and had been evading arrest since long by giving slip to police at naka points and at hideouts during raids. However, Samba Police had identified them using scientific aid to investigation and had been organising surprise raids to nab them. Finally, Samba Police succeeded in apprehending these notorious thieves and recovering costly snatched/stolen items from their possession. 


The notorious thieves were arrested by the police teams comprising of SHO Samba Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Bari Brahmana Sunil Sharma, I/C PP SIDCO Samba Deepika Jalotra & I/C PP Rakh Amb Talli Vineet Singh under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, DySP Garu Ram Bhardwaj and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. 

The apprehended thieves have been identified as Nikhil Charak s/o Rajinder Singh r/o Greater Kailash Jammu, Mohd. Saleem s/o Mohd. Munshi r/o Kainag district Ramban A/P Beli Charana Jammu and Abdul Karim alias Bachu s/o Mohd. Shafi r/o Manohar Gopala Samba and one more thief. With their nabbing, case FIR No. 84/2023 u/s 295-A/457/380 IPC P/S Bari Brahmana, case  FIR No 87/2023 u/s 379 IPC P/S Miran Sahib and case FIR No 85/2023 u/s 382 IPC P/S Samba have been solved and some more cases are expected to be solved as their involvement is suspected in more theft cases. Unfortunately, notorious accused Nikhil Charak turned out to be son of a disciplined police official of GRP and is the main accused involved in temple theft case of Data Talab Bari Brahmana, Samba in which FIR No. 84/2023 u/s 295-A/457/380 IPC stands registered at PS Bari Brahmana and Gurudwara theft case of Gangyal Jammu in which FIR No. 51/2023 stands registered at PS Gangyal under section 295-A/457/380 IPC through PP Greater Kailash. Nikhil Charak initially indulged in heroin addiction and subsequently became a notorious thief who did not hesitate to commit thefts even at religious places of worship. Another notorious thief Abdul Karim alias Bachu is also involved in atleast three extortion/theft cases in Samba district. 

    Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that total seventy one thieves have been arrested in three months after launching intensive drive against thieves in Samba district and thirty seven theft cases have been solved by Police.
