Kathua Indian Reserve Police (IRP) organised a grand preamble-reading- ceremony at 19th Battalion Headquarters Kathua where hundreds of officers and Jawans of all companies of Battalion were present.
SSP Benam Tosh Commandant IRP-19th Battalion read out the preamble of the Constitution of India and highlighted the ideals enshrined in the constitution of India. SP Diwaker Singh, Deputy SP Deepak Tufchi and Deputy SP Shabinder Singh and all other dynamic officers and officials, who remained present on the occasion, resolved to sensitize the common people about the silent features of the constitution of India.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Benam Tosh told that essence of the Constitution of India lies in the preamble to the constitution in which objectives and goals to be achieved are enshrined and in which there is a great resolve of the people of India to provide freedom, justice and equality to all the citizens of the country. Benam Tosh further said that Constitution of India is the world's biggest written constitution and best constitution having scope for amendment as and when needed. Democracy in India is flourishing in an exemplary way. Like many other virtues, India has taught to the world the ideal democratic values, he added. "Everyone should perform fundamental duties and should purchase Constitution of India, as books are real property", Benam Tosh advised.
