Sydney Dialogue: PM Modi showed his concerns about Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin

Sydney Dialogue: Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave his keynote address on 'Technology Development and Revolution in India' in 'Sydney Dialogue'.  In his address, the Prime Minister said that we are in the era of change which happens once in an era

Everything around us is changing in the digital age.  It has redefined politics, economy and society.  It is raising new questions on sovereignty, governance, morality, law, rights and security.

In the beginning of his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it is a matter of great honor for the people of India that you have invited me to address the Sydney Dialogue.  I see this as a recognition of India's central role in the Indo-Pacific region and the emerging digital world.

In his address, PM Modi talked about crypto currency and also mentioned bitcoin. He said," It is important that all democratic countries work together on this and ensure that it does not fall into the wrong hands, which can spoil our youth. PM Modi said that the challenge has to betaken as an opportunity."

It is pertinent to mention the Indians have invested 10 Billion Dollars in Cryptocurrency & there are apprehensions that it might be used in terror financing & money laundering.
