Viraj Kala Kendra, Jammu celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great fervour and gaiety. Sh Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman, MV International School, Jammu and Sh.S.K.Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Income tax(Retd.) were the chief guests



Viraj Kala Kendra, Jammu celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great fervour and gaiety. Sh Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman, MV International School, Jammu and Sh.S.K.Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Income tax(Retd.) were the chief guests on the occasion. On the occasion Sh.S.K.Sharma applauded the performances of the children stressing the importance of Satya and Ahimsa in the day to day life and how to face the new challenges with confidence and determination.

Sh.Hira Lal Abrol elaborated how to educate our children by encouraging them to raise high in life and always develop with a positive framework of mind even in this time of pandemic.He said they are running an organisation which gives training to the youth free  of cost in different fields and there are many youths in the city earning well and running their families after getting trained.Smt.Sarla Kohli, principal,Govt.Degree College(Retd.) and vice president of Viraj Kala Kendra said there is urgent need of Gandhian philosophy  nowadays  and praised the work of the organisation for its selfless and dedicated efforts in running such types of energetic and message oriented ocassions.

Smt.Raj Bharti, chairman of Viraj Kala Kendra shared her experiences with Mahatma Gandhi when he visited Jammu.

A variety of cultural programmes was performed by young artists including skit Gandhibhakt by Tarun Charak, and Suhani Rathore, captivating dances by Harshita Gupta, Mannat Bhau,Niharika Bhau,Sneha Sharma and Rishab Manhas.Shartik,Akhil Sharma and Gourav Zandu gave a scintillating patriotic   song performance .Netra Tickoo who has performed outside UT and on various stages yet showed her caliber in singing.A special mention to pride of Jammu, Jiteshwar who has been showing his dance skills for years gave charismatic performance depicting the values of Gandhism and loss of the society without Mahatma.

An on-line Drawing Competition was also held on the occasion. The winners of the competition were felicitated by the organisation.First position was bagged by Manvi Bagul,2nd position was bagged by Aakriti Chandel and 3rd position was bagged by Anushka Verma.About 70 candidates participated in the competition .It is a matter of satisfaction that candidates even from Tamilnadu, Maharashtra and Orissa participated in the competition.

Sh.Rajneesh Gupta managed all the activities of the occasion and Sh.Pawan Verma anchored very well during the entire function.

The programme was organised keeping in view all the protocols.
