Samba, 12th September, 2021: In its drive against drug smugglers & its propagators, District Police Samba has arrested two narcotics smugglers and recovered 595 kgs of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) at Police Naka Mansar, in the jurisdiction of PS Samba.
A Police Party of PP Mansar while performing routine vehicle checking duty at Naka Mansar, signalled to stop a truck bearing Regd No. JK03C-9848 which was coming from Kashmir side and moving towards Samba via Udhampur- Mansar road.
During checking of the said vehicle, a total of 26 Nos. of plastic Bags containing Poppy Straw (Bhukki) weighing around 595 Kg were recovered from the Truck.
The accused driver namely Arif Ahmed S/o Ghulam Hassan alongwith his associate Shabbir Ahmed S/o Habib Ullah both residents of Doru, Anantnag have been arrested on the spot and the contraband item alongwith vehicle was seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 282/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba and further investigation started.
