Every journalist is entitled to protection as per Kedar Nath Singh judgment, said Apex Court in its judgment today. The Apex Court was hearing on the petition of journalist Vinod Dua. Supreme Court also quashed proceedings and FIR on the petition filed by journalist Vinod Dua, seeking to quash a sedition case registered against him in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The Apex Court, however, rejected journalist Vinod Dua's second plea, for constituting a high-level committee in each state to examine sedition charges slapped against many journalists with experience of 10 years or more.
