District Development Commissioner, Samba Rohit Khajuria today convened at a meeting of representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and reviewed the implementation of Jan Abhiyan Programme scheduled to commence from 10 September in District samba here at Conference hall DC office Samba. During the meeting Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jitender Mishra, Assistant Commissioner Development Sidharath Dhiman, block development councils chairman, Sarpanches and panches of panchayats were present. District development commissioner Samba has seeked cooperation and synergy from the Sarpanches of the panchayats in making the Jan Abhiyan Programme successful in the district. He exhorted upon all the members present in meeting to make the govt initiative a mass movement and the contours of the programme taking governance to doorstep is achieved. He said maximum thrust shall be given for rural development including completion of old sanctioned projects and also sanctioning of new important works. The members of PRI appraised their expectations and demand from the district administration including release of payments under MGNREGA and other aspects of upcoming govt initiatives. District development commissioner has assured all the genuine demands shall be look after thoroughly. In the meeting complete information regarding the B2V-III programme a grassroots level inclusive programme ‘JAN ABHIYAN PROGRAMME’ is commencing from 10th Sept in the district was provided. Giving details on the Jan Abhiyan programme it was also informed that this programme has 3 sectors including ‘Jan Sunvayi’, Jan Adhikar Abhiyan and Unnat Gram Abhiyan. DDC said that on each consecutive Wednesday’s till 1 oct Block Divas shall be observed across the district while Deputy Commissioner shall hold Jan Abhiyan in his office complex from 9:30am to 11:30 am each day.
