Comprehensive strategy made to combat the menace of drug abuse- Lieutenant Governor

 

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presided over the fifth state level meeting of Narco Coordination Center (NCORD) on Monday.  The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, senior officers of Police, J&K Administration and concerned Union Territories and Central Agencies.Lt Governor takes action on the directions passed during the 4th NCORD meeting  and discussed the broad strategy for both state and district level initiatives to combat the menace of drug abuse.The Lt Governor called for strict action against drug peddlers, increased IEC activities, community involvement and capacity building of police officers and drug enforcement agencies.Directed the Department of Higher Education and School Education and concerned officials to intensify awareness campaigns  Do this and make the de-addiction panchayat campaign a mass movement.  Instructions were issued to the district officers to ensure effective use of the Nidan Portal and follow the directions of the NCORD meeting.
