There are now 12 days left for the Amarnath Yatra to begin. Companies of paramilitary forces have started reaching Jammu for security. These companies will be deployed at different locations. Some companies of CISF, CRPF, BSF, ITBP have reached Jammu, which are being gradually deployed. These security forces will be deployed not only on the Amarnath Yatra route and camps, but also on the National Highway and border villages. Meanwhile, Northern Command chief Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi reviewed the security situation in a high-level meeting on Sunday. Also took information about the preparation of the yatra route from the beacon. There will be a multi-layered security cordon for the safety of the yatra. The Northern Command chief reviewed the security situation and preparedness on the northern and southern yatra routes in a high-level meeting. He took inputs from all the stakeholders regarding the preparations for the Yatra. He also took information from the Chief Engineer of Project Beacon regarding the preparation of the yatra route.
He directed that all agencies, district administration and all stakeholders should work together to make the yatra a success. Care should be taken that passengers should not face any kind of inconvenience. Safety of passengers is the top priority. A strategy was chalked out in the meeting on multi-layered security arrangements, medical facilities, helipads, residential arrangements, deployment of rescue teams in case of emergency. Northern Command Chief Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi visited Panjtarni on the Amarnath Yatra route on Sunday and also interacted with the jawans posted there.
