The Reserve Bank of India announced on Friday, May 19, 2023, that it was withdrawing Rs 2,000 notes from circulation. The central bank has asked everyone to deposit or exchange Rs 2,000 notes in their accounts in any bank branch by September 30, 2023. Deposits can be made in the normal way without any restrictions in bank accounts. RBI said that the facility to exchange Rs 2,000 notes will start from today i.e. May 23, 2023.
