Samba, May 29 : Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by SSP Samba Benam Tosh has filed chargesheet in mysterious death case of girl student of GDC Samba, “Vaishali”, a resident of Sumb (Samba), whose dead body was found at Ludhiana under suspicious circumstances.
Special Investigation Team (SIT) conducted the investigation in highly professional time-bound manner, collected evidence, arrested the accused, completed investigation and has produced the challan of the case in the court of law for judicial determination.
Twenty year old Sumb girl Vaishali, happened to be a brilliant student of Govt. Degree College Samba and had been one of the best sportspersons in the college. On 20.08.2022, she left her home to attend GDC Samba and after attending college, didn't return. Upon this, missing report was entered at police station Samba. Next day, her dead body was found under mysterious circumstances at railway track in the jurisdiction of GRP PP Sarmalla Ludhiana following which people had protested demanding strong action under law against the perpetrators of crime.
On 01.03.2023, upon the application of father of the deceased girl, Hon'ble Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Samba directed SSP Samba to depute senior officer to conduct preliminary enquiry and proceed under law. Complying with the court directions, SSP Samba Benam Tosh deputed DySP Hqrs Samba, who visited Sumb village, conducted preliminary enquiry, recorded statements, thoroughly examined call details, discretely elicited information and submitted report with the conclusion that the matter was cognizable and warranted registration of FIR under law. Upon this, Hon'ble court of Chief Judicial Magistrate passed directions to police under sec 156 (3) CrPC to register FIR under relevant sections of law. In compliance with the Hon'ble CJM court directions, case had been registered at police station Samba and main accused Sunil Kumar Sharma s/o Late Pritam Chand r/o Markoli Taloor Samba was arrested.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising of SDPO Vijaypur, Sr. Prosecuting Officer DPO Samba, SHO Samba and I/C PP Rakh Amb Talli concluded the investigation on merits and has produced the challaned of the case in the court of law for judicial determination.
