 LG Sinha : Banks should prepare nodal officers in both the divisions to deal with matters related to agriculture.


 Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting to review the implementation of agricultural credit schemes of banking and financial institutions for the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP).  He directed the bank officials and administrative officers for seamless coordination at district level for effective implementation of Samagra Krishi Vikas Program and 100% saturation of benefits under Kisan Credit Card and other Central and Union Territories schemes of agriculture and allied sector  He also directed the bank officials to appoint nodal officers for both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions to monitor the cases received by the banks under HADP and other schemes of agriculture and allied sector.  The LG said that top priority should be given to small and marginal farmers in HADP implementation. He said that the Deputy Commissioners should ensure that the FPOs are converted into engines of growth and the districts should compete to script success stories of such organisations.  Should do  The Lt Governor said that 29 projects worth Rs 5013 crore under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) would have a transformative impact on the agricultural economy of J&K.


 He also sought valuable inputs from bank officials and impressed upon other stakeholders to encourage them to supplement the efforts of the government in improving the access of farmers to institutional sources and further strengthen agriculture .
