SAMBA, MAY 22: As per the Action plan for the month of May, 2023 issued by Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority(JKLSA) and also under the radiant guidance of Ms. Yesh Paul Kotwal, Worthy Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Samba(also Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge) District Legal Services Authority, Samba, in collaboration with Department of Forest Samba today organized an awareness program to observe ‘International Bio- Diversity Day’ (2023) under the theme “From Agreement to Action: Build Back Biodiversity" here in Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Rahya, Samba.
Pardeep Kour, Lecturer Environmental Science, Government Hr.Sec. School, Jakh was the resource person. She highlighted the importance of the day and also dwelled upon the solutions to preserve biodiversity, ecology and environment.
Sunny Jadyal, Block Forest Officer, Samba and Rakesh Choudhary Forest Guard, Samba also sensitized the students as to how they protect the environment by doing several things in their daily routine.
Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Samba also spoke on the occasion.
The objective of organizing this awareness camp was to raise awareness among the students about Biodiversity which is essential for the processes that support all life on Earth, including humans.
Earlier, Nek Ram, Vice Principal, Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Rahya, Samba presented the welcome address in the program.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Hitesh Sharma, Panel Advocate, District Legal Services Authority Samba.
The program was attended by faculty members of the Govt. Hr. Sec. School Rahya, Samba, students and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Samba.
At the end of the program a plantation drive was also conducted by DLSA Samba in the premises of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Rahya, Samba.
