SSP SAMBA BENAM TOSH PRESIDES OVER POLICE- PUBLIC MEETING AT MANSAR



Samba, April 3 : Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh today presided over police-public meeting at Mansar which was attended by hundreds of people including retired officers, DDC member, Sarpanch, Panchs, noted social activists and other prominent persons of the area. SSP was accompanied by Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, DySP Operations Samba Garu Ram, SHO police station Samba Rajeshwar Singh and Incharge Police Post Mansar Deepak Sharma.




Those who spoke on the occasion on behalf of the public were DDC member Advocate Amit Sharma, retired SSP Sewa Singh Mankotia, Sarpanch Sunita Devi, Panch Mansar Amit Mangotra, Panch Tilak Raj Atri, Panch Pooja Devi, Panch Muzamil Ahmed and social activists Choudhary Bishart Ali, Choudhary Mukhtiar, Hazi Farid and Hasan Sardar. Additional SP Samba also spoke on the occasion and appealed to the public to extend full cooperation to police.       


Speaking on the occasion, SSP Samba Benam Tosh appreciated the role of all sections of society of Mansar and adjoining villages in maintaining exemplary communal harmony in the area and keeping Mansar free of major crimes and drug abuse. Benam Tosh said that Mansar has been one of the most sacred and spiritual places of the country since time immemorial and it is the duty of those residing in the vicinity and other stake-holders including police to maintain its sacrosanctity and purity at all costs and towards that end police would take stern action under law against bootleggers and butchers if found indulged in illegal business in the prohibited area. SSP further said that the public of this area has boldly faced militancy while it was at its peak in the area and they deserve special praises and recognition for the same. He announced that Samba police is going to organize anti-drug awareness programme at Mansar shortly in which students of all schools of Mansar and adjoining area would participate and would be handsomely rewarded with cash prizes and certificates. Moreover cricket/volleyball tournaments would also be organized by police in new financial year, he added. SSP assured the public that the district police Samba is committed to provide safe, secure & dignified environment to the law abiding people. He appealed to the participants to cooperate with & assist police by sharing valuable information about drug peddling/other social crimes in the area. He directed the officers present on the spot to redress all the grievances highlighted by the people and take stern action under law against anti-social elements.
