Samba, April 15 : Under the professional guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police achieved another major success in wee hours today , arrested five (5) smugglers of 'khair' wood and seized three vehicles loaded with khair logs.
At a time when people were taking sleep after celebrating festival of Baisakhi with fervour & gaiety, alert Samba Police team comprising of Chouki Officer Supwal Dr.Divya Bharati & HC (Tel) Ram Paul under the supervision of SHO Samba Rajeshwar Singh and DySP Garu Ram had laid a naka near Supwal, intercepted suspected vehicles coming from Kathua side towards Jammu and arrested five smugglers of 'khair' wood at odd night hours.
The smugglers were illegally smuggling 'khair' wood from Kathua to Jammu via Samba. A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Samba through PP Supwal and further investigation is underway.
The arrested smugglers of 'khair' have been identified as Pushpinder Singh alias Pintu s/o Kuldip Singh r/o Dayala Chak Kathua, Roshan Singh s/o Jeevan Singh r/o Narayanpur Kathua, Dev Raj s/o Tulla Ram r/o Dayala Chak Kathua, Sunil Singh s/o Jarnail Singh r/o Dayala Chak Kathua and Ramesh Singh s/o Tej Singh r/o Dayala Chak Kathua.
