Samba, March 27 : Police today organised grand anti-drug awareness programme at Govt Degree College Samba under CAP where nearly one thousand students of six colleges, parents, professors, prominent citizens and police officers witnessed the speech delivering competition.
SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Addl. SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, DySP Hqrs Samba Mohd. Usman, SDPO Vijaypur Priyanka Kumari, DySP DAR Samba Ajay Anand, SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SHO Samba Rajeshwar Singh and Chouki Officer Deepika Jalotra presented certificates and cash rewards of rupees 12000.00 , 8000.00 and 5000.00 to the first, second and third best student speakers respectively, whereas four other student speakers were also felicitated with certificates & cash rewards of rupees 2000.00 each.
Nearly one thousand students of GDC Samba, GDC Ghagwal, GDC Purmandal, GDC Ramgarh, GDC Vijaypur and Bhargava Degree College Samba participated in today’s anti-drug awareness programme. Principal Govt. Degree College Samba Dr. Ravinder Kumar Tickoo thanked the police for organizing grand anti-drug awareness programmes at Degree College Samba to generate awareness among the students and public on the ill effects of drug abuse. Additional SP Samba also spoke on the occasion and asked youth to stay away from narcotic substances.
On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that police is on job to nab all those involved in narco-business in Samba district. He further said narco-terrorism is not less a deadly malaise than terrorism and students, their parents, teachers, relatives, youth and social activists should come in the battlefield where war is being fought by police against deadly narcotic substances and should join hands with police to completely eradicate the narcotic menace from Samba society. SSP Samba appealed to the people to become eyes and ears of police and contribute by generating and conveying information against suppliers of heroin also called ‘chitta’. Benam Tosh congratulated all the speakers and their families of six colleges who participated in the speech delivering competition and won handsome cash rewards and certificates.
