MV International School organised ‘Inter CBSE Schools - BITS TO BEAUTY - Collage Making Competition’ under the ages of Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex, Jammu. The theme of the event was ‘Jammu's Heritage and Culture’. Eighteen prominent CBSE schools of Jammu, Samba and Kathua participated in this event. Sh. Benam Tosh JKPS-SSP Samba was the Chief Guest during the opening of the event while Additional SP Samba, Sh. Surinder Choudhary, JKPS was the Guest of Honour during the closing ceremony. Special Guests who graced the occasion were SDPO Vijaypur Ms. Priyanka, JKPS; Sh. Tribhuvan, SHO Vijaypur; Sh. Rajesh Rathore, President Jammu Sahodaya and Principal JK Public School; Col. VK Sharma (Retd) Principal The Shri Ram Universal School and. The event was judged by illustrious figure of Art from Jammu Mrs. Sakshi Khullar, Ms. Mahua Gupta & Mr. Rinku Kumar. Sh. Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman, Mr Gourav Abrol, Director and Mr. Kundan Lal Dogra, Principal were also present on the occasion.
The varied culture of Jammu was created on canvas by the participants in the form of paper tearing and pasting. They created mesmerising pieces of art that showcased the foods of Jammu; the architecture of historical buildings that decorate the culture of Jammu and its famous dance forms namely the Kud and the Duggar dance. Holy Jammu Tawi, famous temples, Shri Amarnath Ji shrine and depiction of Dogra Regiment of the then J&K Maharajas were some of the themes of the work. The judges had a busy day in selecting the winners among these extra ordinary presentations. Winners were selected on the basis of a judgement criteria that comprised of Visual Impact, Creativity, Aesthetic Display of Collage, Clarity of Theme & Originality of Work.
First prize was bagged by Jodhamal School, whereas APS Nagrota stood second and the third position was clinched by IDPS Jammu. The consolation prizes were won by Stephen’s International School, KC International School & Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu. The Chief Guest Sh. Benam Tosh, JKPS in his address advised the students to be aware about their surroundings and take special care of their health and well being. He assured the gathering that District Police Samba will always be upright in helping every citizen in their hour of need. Guest of Honour Sh. Surinder Choudhary, JKPS cautioned the students to be careful and stay away from the menace of drugs. Sh. Rajesh Rathore raised the momentum by advising the students to work hard to achieve higher goals and Col. VK Sharma complemented the school management for providing the best opportunities to the students to excel in their fields of interest. The program was coordinated by Mr. Ajay, Ms. Mamta Thapa, Ms. Navneet, Mrs. Rekha Sharma, Mrs. Arushi Slathia & Mrs Baljeet.
