IRP 19th Battalion under the supervision of SSP Benam Tosh Commandant launched  cleanliness campaign today at  Kathua , Hiranagar, Chadwal, Lakhanpur, Billawar,Ramkote, Mahanpur, Basholi,Bhoond,Bani,  Lowang  and at fourteen locations in Samba district in which hundreds of officers and Jawans including women officials  participated .

The main cleanliness   programme was organized at Chann Gran Kathua where SSP Benam Tosh, SP Dewaker Singh, Deputy SP Shabinder Singh, Inspector Abhishek Sharma among dozens of officers participated ,whereas concerned Company Commanders accompanied by  other officers participated  in the  cleanliness programmes organized at  other places of district Kathua and  district Samba where cleanliness campaign  got underway today.

On the occasion, SSP Benam Tosh Commandant IRP 19th Battalion told that this cleanliness campaign  has been  launched  in compliance with the directions of Additional Director General of Police Armed J&K S.J.M.Gillani-IPS who has issued Circular order directing all heads of the Units to undertake  cleanliness  campaign as  part of Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan and observance of Gandhi Jayenti from October 11 to 18,2022 .  Benam Tosh said that manual working provides moral education and infuses discipline and it has been the practice since ancient times. Manual work related with cleanliness is a great work on earth and it was considered to be essential daily task for the disciples studying in Guru Kuls in ancient educational curriculum and even today working is part of training in all Police training centers, Police training schools, and Police academies.  IRP 19th Battalion shall continue its cleanliness campaign in district Kathua and district Samba even beyond the scheduled period and selected places in collaboration with social activists, PRIs, and general public so as to make everyone  cleanliness conscious . Some  young people are getting addicted to  drugs abuse  and getting involved in various criminal activities  due to the reason that they are idle and in order to make them busy  it is need of the hour to teach them the concept of ‘Shram dan’ which was found  in forefathers and elders of the society ,Benam Tosh suggested.
