Samba, 21-09-2022: An orientation camp regarding farmer welfare oriented scheme, Integrated Poultry Development Programme 2022-23 was organised by Animal Husbandry Department Samba at Tehsil Unit Samba. The poultry farmers were made aware about the various components of Integrated Poultry Development Programme and special emphasis was laid on the establishment of layer farms/ LIT layer. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rahul Dev, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Samba said that District Samba is the most advantageous district in respect of road connectivity as National Highway passes through and through the district and thus the district can go in for establishment of layer farms to produce DOC as well as increase the egg production since this has also been emphasised by Chief Secretary of JK UT, Dr Arun Mehta. The farmers were also encouraged to take up the benefit of Poultry insurance as well as avail the facility of Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund so that Poultry business can be done on Industrial enterprise level. Among others Dr Neena Pathak, Mobile Officer Samba, Dr Ashwarya, Poultry Extension Officer Samba and staff of Animal Husbandry Department were present. Around 50 participants from various blocks of district Samba participated and benefited from the programme. Sanction letters in favour of 23 eligible beneficiaries to establish poultry units were also distributed on the occasion.
