Kathua: IRP 19 battalion organized Special Tiranga March" in Keerian Gandiyal area of district Kathua in which a large number of civilians, students of two Higher Sec Schools and prominent persons including sarpanches, panches, Lambardar besides Police officers & Jawans participated.
Special Tiranga March concluded at community platform under a banyan tree where students of Govt. Hr. Sec School Keerian & N D J Hr. Sec. School Keerian presented mesmerizing patriotic cultural items, songs and dance amid drums beating and patriotic slogans of" Jai Hind and Bharat Mata Ki Jai"
On behalf of Jammu Kashmir Police, SSP Benam Tosh CO IRP-19th Bn Kathua handed over national flags to the civilians to create awareness about "Har Ghar Tiranga" programme as part of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Earlier, prominent citizens of Keerian Gandiyal led by two sarpanches Naib Sarpanches panches and Lambardars accorded warm welcome to SSP Benam Tosh Commandant IRP-19th Bn and his team of officers on their arrival in Keerian Gandyal which is situated along the boundary of JK UT bordering Punjab and is inhabited by law-abiding nationalist people.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Govt. Higher Sec. Keerian Sh Narinder Singh Sarpanch Sh Rajesh Sharma and Ex Sarpanch Sh.Karan Singh thanked Jammu Kashmir Police, especially IRP-19 Bn Kathua for organizing special Tiranga March in Keerian Gandiyal in collaboration with local residents and Schools. They further hoped that Jammu Kashmir Police will organize more such events to generate patriotismin days to come.
SSP Benam Tosh while speaking on the occasion called upon everybody to respect the national flag and hoist it at their respective houses during the period between 15 to 15" August-2022 and contribute towards making Har Ghar Tiranga programme a grand success. Benam Tosh advised the youth, especially the students, to shun drug addiction and adopt patriotic approach to get success in life. He said that besides stern legal action against drug peddlers, awareness programmes against drug abuse are urgently required to be launched in affected areas to save precious lives of the youth who are fastly falling prey to drug addiction and deviating from the path of service to nation and humanity. Calling Jammu Kashmir police personnel as devoted and committed workers of the nation" Benam Tosh said that police is not only providing safe and secure atmosphere to protect the lives and property of civilians in militancy-infested Jammu Kashmir, but also reaching out to the students and masses to spread the spirit of patriotism, peace and harmony. If police, PRIS prominent citizens, social workers NGOs and students join hands, they can work wonders to eradicate the malaise of drugs abuse, corruption and militancy from the society.
