Kathua, Aug 14: In a biggest ever national flag distribution campaign launched as a part of Har Ghar Tiranga programme on the eve of Independence Day-2022, IRP-19th battalion Kathua under the direct supervision of SSP Benam Tosh Commandant today distributed five thousand national flags among the common people at different localities/villages across the district to generate patriotism and respect to the national flag.
A large number of people belonging to all communities participated in the Har Ghar Tiranga intensive campaign launched by IRP and received national flags from SSP Benam Tosh Commandant IRP-19th battalion Kathua on the behalf of Jammu Kashmir Police at Chhan Morian, Bonaid, Chapper Morh,Guraha Mundian, Chadwal, Jasrota,Rajbagh,Mahi Chack,Padyari and Sherpur and other places.
The objective behind distributing the national flags among the masses at their door steps was to educate the general public about the historical significance of national flag, 75th anniversary of India's Independence, Har Ghar Tiranga programme, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to create awareness about the respect which the citizens are supposed to pay to the national flag as their first and foremost fundamental duty as enshrined in the Constitution of India.
At all the places there national flags were distributed today, SSP Benam Tosh requested the general public to see to it that national flag is hoisted properly and there is no disrespect to the national flag under any circumstances. He further requested the DDCs, BDCs, Sarpanches, Panches, Ward members, Lambardars, Chowkidars, NGOs, social workers and other prominent persons of villages and towns to ensure that national flag is hoisted atop every house and not a single home is left without national flag." IRP is at your beck and call to provide more national flags, if required, anywhere in the district during ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga programme and may be approached for the purpose by any means any time", the Commandant said.
