Rajesh Gill former Ranji Trophy player & Member Indian Cricketers Association played instrumental role in victory of International Veterans Cricket Association of India against Cricket Wales in ongoing Marlborough Cup being played at England.
Chasing a good target of 258 runs in requisite 45 overs, International Veterans Cricket Association of India started on a disastrous note as opener Rajinder Bhoombla was out on the 2nd ball of the innings. But Rajesh Gill played a sheet anchor role with Captain Iqbal Khan. They both gave a solid Foundation to the chase and shared 114 runs in between them before Gill was out for 66 in 73 balls studded with12 fours. Iqbal Khan played Captains knock and scored a magnificent 120 in 129 balls. International Veterans Cricket Association of India won the thrilling contest on the last ball with 5 wickets in hand.
Earlier Cricket Wales scored 257 in 45 overs riding on good baating by Captain Iwan Rees (60) & Steve Maddock (58).
From bowling side of International Veterans Cricket Association of India, Iqbal Khan chipped in with 3 wickets, while Ashwani & D Sharma shared 2 wickets.
This International tournament is being played in England with teams from India, Wales, England & West Indies are participating.
