IRP 19TH BN KATHUA CELEBRATED CONSTITUTION DAY; SSP BENAM TOSH READ OUT PREAMBLE, ADMINISTERED PLEDGE OF FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES





Kathua: Constitution Day-2021 was celebrated by IRP 19th BN at Battalion Headquarters Kathua where SSP Benam Tosh Commandant read out preamble to the constitution of India and administered pledge of fundamental duties to the officers and Jawans present in the grand event.

All senior officers of the Battalion including Deputy Commandant SP Santokh Raj. Adjutant, Quartermaster, Company Commanders of all companies among hundreds of Jawans attended the main ceremony at Battalion Headquarters Kathua, refreshed their knowledge about preamble to the constitution read out by CO and took pledge of fundamental duties enshrined in the constitution.

To sensitise all the employees of the unit at all places of deployment, similar constitution day celebrations were organized by IRP 19th Bn at all company headquarters across district Kathua and in Samba district, especially at Chadwal ( Border), Lakhanpur, Billawar, Basholi. Bani, and Raipur Samba,

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Benam Tosh thanked the Government and PHQ for issuing innovative directions for organizing important awareness events and pledge taking ceremonies which are essentially needed in the interest of unity and integrity of the nation and urgently required to further strengthen the spirit of patriotism and nation service among all the citizens of the country including employees. He said that Constitution of India is the biggest written Constitution of the world and was adopted by the people of India, enacted by the people of India and gave to themselves by the people of India on 26th day of November, 1949 in the Constituent Assembly and therefore 26th November has special historical significance in India and thus, was being celebrated across the country as Constitution Day Benam Tosh impressed upon all the officers and Jawans to always keep in mind the eleven (11) fundamental duties as enshrined in the constitution of India, always abide by the constitution, respect national flag & national anthem, protect sovereignty, unity & integrity of India. promote spirit of common brotherhood, ensure dignity of women, protect natural environment. develop scientific temper, protect public property, preserve composite culture, strive towards excellence in all spheres and provide opportunities for education to the children between 6-14 years of age.
