Anti Polythene Drive conducted in Bari Brahmana; 2.60 Qtl polythene seized and 26000 fine imposed

9 August; 2021 samba: In compliance to directions issued by Government, the authorities of Municipal Committee, Bari Brahamana alongwith Pollution Control Board, District Samba (North) today on 09/08/2021 conducted a massive Anti Polythene drive in the town. The team was headed by Sh Jodh Raj, Executive Officer, Sh Ravinder Kumar Gupta, Assistant Sanitation Officer, Sh Kamal Kishore (Head Assistant) and other officials of Tax Section and Khilafwarzi Section of Municipal Committee, Bari Brahmana alongwith Sh Sanjay Rathore, Divisional Officer, Pollution Control Board Samba (North), Sh Naveed Choudhary (Field Inspector), Sh Pankaj Chadha (Field Inspector). The team jointly started the Anti Polythene drive against the violators who are using polythene carry bags below 50 microns. The Anti Polythene team has imposed and collected the onspot fine of Rs26,600/- (Rs16000/- by PCB and Rs10,600/- by MC Bari Brahmana) and seized polythene carry bags approximately 2.60 Qtl. The officers / officials of the Anti Polythene drive also educated the Shopkeepers / Street Vendors / Hawkers about the guidelines of the Pollution Control Board and also aware them regarding avoiding to use of polythene bags below 50 microns. The Municipal Committee, Bari Brahmana handed over the seized polythene carry bags to Pollution Control Board for its proper disposal.

The Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Bari Brahmana thanked to the Pollution Control Board for conducting this important Anti Polythene drive and requested to the general public of town and business community to avoid use of polythene carry bags below 50 microns in order to avoid any disciplinary action in future. The Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Bari Brahamana also requested to Trader Community for cooperation with Municipal Committee, Bari Brahmana in order to make “Green Bari Brahamana- Clean Bari Brahamna”. The Executive Officer also aware to all the businessman that Anti Polythene Carry Bags drive is a continue process and in future, if any found in violation of Norms / Rules they shall be penalized again.
