Kathua police foiled bovine smuggling attempt: 09 bovines rescued, one person arrested


KATHUA, 11 JUNE: 
In its endeavours and commitment to contain the activities of Bovine smuggling in the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Sh R C Kotwal-JKPS today foiled Bovine smuggling attempt within the district rescued 09 Bovines, 01 arrested and seized the vehicles involved.

On 11.06.2021 police team of P/S Rajbagh led by Insp. Bhopinder Singh SHO P/S Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO  Border Sh. Sachit Mahajan-JKPS during naka checking duty at Manyari, Marheen noticed one suspicious Mahindra Load carrier bearing Reg. No. JK21F-4786 which was being driven by a person namely Mohd. Altaf S/o Bashir Ahmed R/o Mansar District Samba  who was signalled to stop for checking. During checking of aforesaid vehicle, 05 Bovines were found  loaded  in it illegally. Thereafter police team was able to rescue 05 Bovines, 01 person arrested alongwith vehicle  sezied.By taking this cognizance case FIR No.  93/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA Act has been registered at PS Rajbagh and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.

While in another instance police team  led by Insp. Vijay Kumar SHO PS Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Sh. Shammi Kumar JKPS during naka checking duty at NHW near Rattan Palace noticed one suspicious vehicle bearing unknown Registration number which was being driven by unknown person who was signalled to stop for checking. On seeing naka party driver of the said vehicle parked the vehicle far behind naka point and managed to fled away.On checking 04 more bovines were found loaded in the vehicle illegally which were rescued on spot alongwith vehicle seized. A case FIR No. 286/2021 U/S 188/IPC , 11PCA act has been registered at PS Kathua and investigation was taken up.

Local inhabitants of the area appreciated the efforts of kathua Police.
