COVID19 Relief Measures: LG for Specific Interventions for the most vulnerable population, workers, women, children, small businessmen and farmers

 


COVID-19 Relief Measures: LG Manoj Sinha today held a review meeting to assess the effective implementation of various welfare schemes and sought the detailed status of relief measures being extended to different sections of the society affected due to Covid-19 pandemic.       

    He said Specific interventions should be taken immediately to support the most vulnerable population, workers, women, children, small businesses, farmers, communities & senior citizens & Collaborative, consistent & continuous effort is required to further strengthen the social protection.  It’s a collective responsibility of the officers at various levels to ensure that no one goes hungry. 

   The officers must reach out to every citizen in need, Mid-day meal supplies, supplementary nutrition must continue for the beneficiaries, care must be taken of the families of daily wage earners, migrant labourers & the issues should be addressed caused by the pandemic. 

    He further said around 40 lakh citizens benefitted under different components. 8.38 lakh pensioners receive their pension under ISSS, National Old Age Pension scheme. 3,49,303 active construction workers benefitted, Rs 5.6 crore provided for 28 thousand Shikarawalas/ Ponywalas/ Dandiwalas /Palkiwalas /Tourist guides as two months’ relief.Employment provided to 26,673 households involving Rs 8.21 crore under MGNREGA. Dry ration provided to 7,89,586 beneficiaries under Supplementary Nutrition Programme.

He asked the officers to work with compassion and empathy and take all required steps to enable people overcome their difficulties during this pandemic.
