In reply to an unstarred question in Rajya Sabha regarding the three freezed installments of DA of Central Government Employees and pensioners and when will be DA installments will be released, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance Sh Anurag Thakur in his written reply said , in view of the situation arisen out of COVID-19 pandemic, the Government has decided to freeze three instalments of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Reliet to Central Government employees and pensioners due tom 01.01.20, 01.07.2020 & 01.01. 2021. The said amount of Rs 37530.08 crores saved on this account will help to tide over the economic impact of COVID 19 pandemic and as and when the decision to release the future installment of DA due from 01.07. 2021 to be taken, the rates of DA as effective from 01.01.2020, 01.07.2020 and 01.01.2021 will be restired prospectively and will be subsumed in the cumulative rates effective from 01.07 2021.

Central Government employees and pensioners has to wait more for DA installment; Amount of three freezes DA installments is used to cover to cover the economic impact of COVID 19.
