RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 02: Education Department Rajouri has strongly refuted a news report appearing in a section of press regarding recommendation of ‘undeserving teachers for award.’
Terming the report as devoid of facts, the department clarified that the recommendations were made by following all norms through a committee. It said that the CEO has asked all the 15 Zonal Education officers of the District for submitting the files/cases of Best teachers for Award — one from each zone related to COVID-19. They submitted the files to a committee comprising 5 Principals at CEO Level i.e 13 files at Zonal level and 03 at District Level. The Committee further selected/recommended 05 teachers, who had worked during COVID-19 restrictions and submitted to the District level screening cum Selection Committee. The District level Committee selected only 04 teachers, out of 05 for Award.
The Department said none of the teachers selected for Best teacher award is in any relation to any officer of the department, including the CEO. In fact all the teachers worked selflessly during COVID-19 pandemic for the welfare of the student community. As the class work remained suspended and there were no other parameters to assess the Annual achievement of teacher so the selection is made on working during COVID - 19 pandemic.
