Sarmad Hafeez presides over Jan Abhiyan Programme in District samba. Major boost for empowerment of PRIs

Special Secretary to the government Sh. Sarmad Hafeez, IAS, also district in-charge Secretary of Samba today visited block Ghagwal and participated in the ‘Jan Abhiyan Programme’ wherein he listened to the issues faced by locals at panchayat level and addressed most of them. 

District Development Commissioner Rohit Khajuria, gave a brief details on the Jan Abhiyan Programme commenced in the district from 10 September and the achievements delivered through active Public-Officer interaction at panchayat level. He said in District samba 100% achievement has been made under Old age pension, Widow pension and Handicap pension as all eligible applicants has been covered. Additionally during Jan Adhikar session 2900 Domicile certificates, 309 Caste Certificates, 89 EWS certificates, Heath cards, KCC cards besides other govt beneficiaries schemes awarness has been regularly disseminated to general public of 09 blocks. 

Special Secretary of Youth, Sports and Services Dept. listened to the grievances of local and other issues raised by Block Development Council Chairman, Sarpanches at the Jan Sunvayi session. The representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions raised issues pertaining to Rural Development Dept, Power Development department, Jal Shakti Dept, Public Works Dept, and other issues of line depts including availability of drinking water, maintenance of roads, Uninterrupted power supply, early completion of rural development works and others. 

Speaking on the occasion Special Secretary Sarmad Hafeez said that the general rural public of the district samba should take maximum benefit from the ongoing Jan Abhiyan programme as govt officers are stationed at their panchayat and every issue shall be resolved including pendency,  bottlenecks, Dept convergence issues, domicile certificates issue, caste certificates, social security schemes including pension and other such wide spectrum govt benevolent schemes. Taking cognisance of the issue raised by the PRI members Spl Secretary said that the issues those can be resolved locally or at district level shall be addressed within weeks time and other major issues including development works sanctioning shall be taken up at appropriate level personally. During the Jan Sunvayi programme it was informed that 403 domicile certificates, 06 SC certificates, 09 OBC certificates, 03 Economic weaker certificate and 367 labour cards have been distributed till date since start to Jan abhiyan programme in the block ghagwal.

Vote of thanks was presented by Block Development Council chairman Ghagwal, Vijay tagotra in which he expressed gratitude on behalf of all the Sarpanches, Panches and locals towards the visiting officer and district administration for providing a platform for them where they can voice their concerns. He said that they are hopeful all their concerns shall be properly look after and also appealed that more such visits be carried out in near future so that maximum benefit can be reaped by general public.
