Rajesh Padgotra, Political Activist and Khajur Singh, Ex-Sarpanch, Bagla Rahya along with large number of local residents of Village Rahya, Suchani, Badodi, Patti, Ranjari, Rajinder Pura and Gura Slathia staged a Protest Dharna and Demonstration and burnt the 'effigy' of Prof Ashok Aima, VC, CUJ outside the Campus of Central University of Jammu and demanded that the Union Government should order a high-level probe into the Financial and Recruitment scams of CUJ.
Briefing the media persons Rajesh Padgotra said millions of rupees are being spent to establish Central University of Jammu to brighten the future of young generation, but instead the varsity has become a den of rampant corruption. He criticized the BJP Govt for protecting the corrupt VC of CUJ and said that an amount of 43.99 crores was sanctioned for the internal & external electric work within a period of 18 months. But after the expiry of 18 months only Rs. 14 crores were spent and therefore, Mr. Anil Kumar & Company was blacklisted as advised by the DC Raina, legal adviser of the CUJ. But setting aside the directions of legal advisers, then Xen, Finance Officer and Former Incharge, VC Prof Devanand, Mr. Aima paid 11 crore rupees to Anil Kumar & Co. For the same work in violation of all the provision and it should be enquired how much amount was exchanged for getting the bill of 11 crore approved by VC and detailed enquiry should be done to check how much amount is being spent for a palatial bungalow at Chowadhi Sainik Colony on his wife’s name i:e Indu Bala Aima on the land in Khasra No. 658 the status of which in the revenue record is Gair Mumkin Khad which Mr Aima has purchased with a conspiracy & subterfuge plotting with the concerned patwari who has shown the land in the Fard Intkal as Non-Khad & thus Aima family succeeded in the court to get the sale deed attested.
He further said that it is pertinent to mention here that the said Mr Aima has purchased the land on 19th July, 2018 which is evident from the sale deed dated 19th of July 2018 registered before the concerned Sub Registrar (Sub Judge) Jammu on 24th July, 2018 and on that day and even before the date of execution of sale deed that area was well within the jurisdiction of JMC, Jammu and Mr Aima has mischievously suppressed the fact deliberately in registry in order to oust the jurisdiction of Municipality JMC in connivance with the revenue officials.
He further stated that it seems like Central University of Jammu (CUJ) has become epitome of corruption in J&K. A VC, few years back when he was a Contractual professor in CUJ had taken a loan of 6 lakh rupees from SBI bank for renovation of his old house at Gandhi Nagar is now building a new mansion of minimum 5 crore (According to current market and building cost) in posh Sainik Colony. He further questioned to Govt, How a govt servant Vice-Chancellor, who was contractual employee 5 year back can justify building a house of almost 5 crore rupees from his disclosed income in a same city and 5 kms from his existing house? When VC already have two flats at pretty days apartment at Sainik Colony and one flat at Delhi.
Rajesh demands immediate removal of VC Central University of Jammu and CBI enquiry to probe all teaching and non-teaching recruitment in CUJ, purchases done during Prof Ashok Aima’s tenure as VC, Projects managed by him at JU and CUJ, to check bills of material of his house and to probe his assets and source of income.
Khajur Singh also said that all the norms and standard operating procedures have been thrown in the dustbin by the VC and appealed the Ministry of Human Resources, Chancellor of Central Universities and President of India to take cognizance of irregularities being committed by VC, CUJ who has made the university as his fiefdom for personal gains and not for academic benefits of students. They appealed for thorough probe in the matter to earth the financial scandal there.Among others who participated M/s Pankaj salathia, Parmveer Snigh Jamwal, Mohd. Sarwar, Mohd. Peeran Ditta,Rakesh Verma, Rohit Sharma, Ragubir Singh Bagal, Upjeet Singh, Jogindar Sharma, Capt. Karam Chand Sharma, Vikram Singh, Kuldeep Raj, Jannu, Suraj Singh, Jeevan Singh Bagal, Ranjeet Singh Bagal, Dheeraj Kumar besides other.
