The Government has decided to restore 4G internet services in Udhampur district of Jammu region and possibly Budgam district in the Central Kashmir from tomorrow , according to highly placed official sources .
These sources said that while it is certain that Udhampur district will get the 4G network from tomorrow , Budgam district in the Valley falls in the “ may be” category. But they cautioned that it will be the trial basis.
The 4G network was snapped on August4/5 midnight last year hours before the Central Government revoked special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and Article 35 A and the announcement of the split of the erstwhile state into two Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh .
Last week , the government had submitted before the Supreme Court that it would restore 4G network in two districts- one each in Jammu and the Valley from August 16 on trial basis , as there were valid security concerns still in existence in the militancy-hit Kashmir .
The official sources said that they would be re-opening the 4 G network in Udhampur and tentatively in Budgam district with their fingers crossed as Pakistan is continuing with its instigating propaganda to create a situation in the Valley .
