Kathua: Additional Director General of Police Armed J&K SJM.Gillani-IPS accompanied by Staff officer to ADGP Armed J&K SSP Mehmood Ahmad and other senior officers of APHQ J&K visited IRP-19th battalion headquarters Kathua, held a darbar of officers & Jawans to listen to them with a view to redress their grievances. On the occasion, the ADGP also witnessed Kabaddi & Tug of war matches played between the student players of Govt Higher Secondary Schools Kathua/Govt Degree College Kathua and IRP players of 19th battalion and felicitated the winner players with medals, trophies & certificates. The ADGP also attended "Bada Khana" and took meals with the Jawans to boost their morale.
SSP Benam Tosh Commandant IRP-19th battalion presented formal welcome address whereas a team of singers of the unit presented welcome song in honour of Armed Police Chief J&K on his first visit to the Kathua battalion headquarters after taking over as ADGP Armed J&K. Warm welcome was also presented to the chief guest ADGP SJM.Gillani-IPS by the players belonging to students community and IRP-19th battalion on his arrival at the play ground amid much fanfare, welcome applauses and greeting slogans of "Jai Hind".

DySP IRP-19th Battalion Kuldeep Raj Tripathi, DySP(S) APHQ Sajjad Ahmad, DySP (pers) APHQ Abdul Hamid ,SHO Kathua Inpsr O.P Chib among hundreds of other officers & officials were also present on the occasion to welcome ADGP Armed J&K SJM Gillani-IPS on his first visit to IRP-19th battalion headquarters Kathua.
Speaking on the occasion, ADGP Armed J&K SJM Gillani-IPS exhorted upon the Police Officers, Jawans as well as civilians to strictly adopt Covid appropriate behaviour at all places of deployment, campus and social functions, as Corona scare is not yet over and covid guidelines issued by the Govt have to be followed as preventive measure as responsible citizens of the country. ADGP emphasized the need for creating awareness among masses regarding Covid-19 preventive measures, safeguards, alertness and vaccination ADGP further said that everybody should take care of himself first, should pay attention to personal physical fitness, overall health. lifestyle, should get medically checked after short intervals and above all should observe Yoga exercises /Games on daily basis.
ADGP Armed J&K while interacting with the officers and Jawans said that upon the special efforts a ts of DGP J&K Shri Dilbag Singh-IPS, the Govt of J&K has recently cleared several SRO cases enhanced allowances for Police officials performing anti militancy and other hard duties and has also enhanced the monthly honorarium of SPO's, enhanced ration money and much more is expected in near future for welfare of J&K Police officials. The promotion avenues of Police officials will also be increased as modalities are being worked out with regard to promotion matters so that promotions are granted on time without inordinate delay. Pay anomalies, if any. will also be removed, he added.
Towards the end of his educative speech, the ADGP impressed upon all the officers of J&K Armed Police/IRP as well as District Police to work in tandem to achieve the overall objective and To strive for excellences while honestly serving the nation and society wherever posted.
